What do disposable diapers have to do with gas prices? ALOT! Disposable diapers are made of petroleum-based material. So the makers of Huggies, the Kimberly-Clark Corp. (KMB), will be able to keep on rolling out miles of Huggies at moderate cost for the nation’s baby bottoms due to the fall in gas prices recently. Any time oil goes up a dollar a barrel, it costs KMB $5 million to $6 million in operating profits, according to the company’s chief financial officer, Mark Buthman.
Is no one alarmed that baby’s are wearing petroleum-based products?
