I am interested in putting together a Natural Living Family Fair here on the Diaper Jungle forums.

I was thinking of topics such as Attachment Parenting, Co-Sleeping, Extended Breastfeeding, Homeopathic Heath and Wellness, Frugal CEM (Chief Executive Mothering), etc.

I would like to dedicate a week to each subject; consider it sort of "Continuing Education" for moms - after all - it IS a full-time job! Wink

I envision each week to have new content added to the forums daily relating to that week's subject matter. I would like to interview workforce professionals as well as professional moms who have experience to share. I'd like to include articles written by moms that share how natural parenting works for their family in today's society.

At the conclusion of each week, all information would be copied over to the Diaper Jungle Site and be available to continually educate moms even after the "training" here on the forums was over.

If you are interested in contibuting knowledge to the informational fair or have comments or suggestions, please post them here. Have you read good books we could list? Informational blogs you frequent we could post?

I see this as a way to bring more moms peace through natural living, getting back to basics, nurturing their families with confidence and simplicity. I appreciate any thoughts/insights!

Thanks!

I enjoy writing and would be happy to do some posts. Smile

I could do frugal living, going green and have plenty of books I've read... maybe we could encourage more posting of "book reviews"?

I'm not much help, as I am sure you have realized by now, writing things out is not a strong trait for me.

Could you recommend a good book? A good website? Ways you have discovered that help you to be frugal with your own family?

I love to write. However, I am not sure I have any great wisdom to share. I have breastfed four kiddos now for at least a year apiece. I did recently cut my grocery budget significantly (well, when I am up and going and not bogged down in pregnancy) using a book I read online. Not sure if I could find the book again (old computer), but I could sure sum up how I did it. I would even be willing to share what my orignial costs were, what kinds of things I bought and what it looks like now. I know a lot of people who talk about cutting costs make lame suggestions like, cut out your daily espresso! Rolling Eyes

Anyway, let me know if any of that sounds interesting or if you have any specific things you think I could help with. Like I said, I love to write and will do it anyhow, this is just a good place to put the words! Wink

Yeah, my hubby and I call that a "pretty people reccomendation" In other words, the people who are so worried aobut how everyone else sees them and keeping up with the Joneses they need to be told to cut their daily cappuccino half fat, frap smack the wall, whatever, grande. Not that I am above the occasional frap, yum, but daily? What is up with that? Hello, complain about your money situation to me when you are cutting meat out of your diet, not for health reasons, but becuase even ground beef and chicken parts are too darn expensive!

I have to take the time to balance out our budget and figure what our current spending is on groceries. The problem is, I got most of my tips from an ebook and I can not find that book again. I will hav eto fire up the old computer and see what I can do.

Figure what out? I am not currently shopping this way, keep meaning too, but Dad getting sick derailed me again. However, I do remember HOW I did it. Unconfuse me, I am not sure what you want? Personal help or something for the fair?

Sorry for the confusion, Sara - I am good at that. I was thinking just a summary of the tips you used to cut down your grocery bill and if you remembered your estimated before & after costs, that would be cool. It would be both for me (the trip killed me in $$$$$) as well as the fair, however, do know that the fair may not be on the jungle, but more than likely something on my site/blog.

I know you're busy with your dad and other things, don't feel anobligation, ok?
